Testimonies

After receiving a birthday card from TMFNZ a testimony from this member was received.

In July this year I was woken up by severe pain in the upper right abdominal area radiating through the centre of my back and as a former Ambulance Officer, I thought I was having a silent MI.  This is a heart attack without the text book symptoms.  I went to the Emergency Department by Ambulance and later that morning a scan revealed a gallbladder full of stones.  On the Saturday, I was discharged to my GP and after telling the Surgeon I had Surgical Cover he immediately took me off the outpatient referral and was organising an appointment at his practice.  On the Monday morning while waiting to see my GP, my wife sent me a text saying the Surgeon would see me the next afternoon and operate on the Thursday, this created a mad dash for ringing my Medical Service Provider for prior approval which was generated over the phone and a claim number sent in the mail the next day.

Granted, this was a window of opportunity for the Surgeon and if I was not a member of TMFNZ I could still be on the waiting list.
